Vietnam promotes tourism in PATA Travel Mart 2015

To boost tourism cooperation between Vietnam and India, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) collaborated with PATA Vietnam Chapter to participate in PATA Travel Mart 2015 from September 6 – 8, 2015 in Bangalore City, India.

Among the most important annual events of PATA, PATA Travel Mart is considered the largest and prestige regional tourism fair. Along with the organization of Vietnam tourism booth at the fair to promote attractive and unique tourism products, Vietnam also participates in other activities in the framework of event as B2B session, seminars, PATA Summit…

On this occasion, VNAT in collaboration with the Embassy of Vietnam in India organized roadshows to promote Vietnam tourism in Bangalore City on September 7 and in Mumbai City on September 10. India is an important source market of international tourism industry with the population of 1.27 billion people of which 1.2% travelled abroad and spent USD 12.3 billion in 2012. According to Indian Ministry of Tourism, the number of Indian outbound tourists will increase to 50 million arrivals by 2020 and total outbound spending will achieve USD 91.2 billion in 2030. Vietnam is an attractive destination for Indian tourists who favour friendly people, safe and secure environment, various fascinating destinations and especially sea tourism, spiritual destinations, renowned heritage sites and culture of Vietnam. In the past five years, the number of Indian tourists to Vietnam increased by 344%, from 16,000 arrivals in 2010 to nearly 55,000 arrivals in 2014.

The roadshows are also an opportunity for tourism businesses, hotels, airlines of the two countries to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation.
